The Dorchester Collection’s first hotel in the Middle East, The Lana sits on the Marasi Bay Marina with reflective and spacious architecture that gives the whole building a sense of buoyancy; two interconnecting towers embrace elements of light and fluidity, an innovative design from the award-winning firm Foster + Partners. The Lana selected Air Aroma to design their signature scent, which has become an iconic olfactory logo that further bolsters the brand’s character.

Crafting a Custom Fragrance for The Lana

The Lana scent makes a memorable impact in its subtlety and elegance, perfectly blending a storied legacy of luxury with the modern glamour and opulence that define Dubai. With a citrus floral profile of bergamot, jasmine, and sea salt, the scent stands out amongst heavier, stronger fragrance styles more common in the region. The scent design was intentional to reflect the weightlessness of the waterfront property and provide a soothing effect.

Connecting with guests on a sensory and emotional level, The Lana scent creates a palpable feel of magnificence. Diffused throughout all public areas of the hotel and residences using dozens of Air Aroma’s patented scent diffusers, the power behind the scent diffusion is hidden from sight, skillfully integrated with the interior design and stunning architecture. Imbued with soft pinks, mauves and whites, the interior design takes inspiration from Dubai’s striking desert landscape and sunsets. French design agency Gilles & Bossier created the interiors for The Lana, which evoke English traditional blended with sleek minimalism and stylistic flair. A variety of raw and polished materials like marble create a layering effect with the spaciousness throughout the interior; there’s an understated elegance which plays with the sophisticated signature scent.

Recently featured on the prominent World’s Best 50 Hotels list within the same year of opening, The Lana has already earned a reputation for an iconic global destination.
